The extraordinary story of the Japanese kamikazes and the world’s first suicide bombing campaign during WWII.
Using archive, drama reconstructions and interviews with the survivors and their relatives, the programme explores how, thousands of young Japanese men were persuaded to sacrifice their lives and the lasting effect it has had on their families.
The film also explores what it was like for the American and British sailors who reveal the grinding horror of facing the daily suicide tactic for the first time.
